Is Electrification the Future of Urban Transport?
At a time where the transition to sustainable mobility is more urgent than ever, Electric Vehicles (EVs) have emerged as an essential component in the debate on the future of urban transport. However, they are not the only technology on the horizon. With the advancement of hydrogen and plastic fuel technologies, it is essential to analyse how these solutions compare and complement each other.
This session aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current and future urban mobility landscape, examining the advantages and disadvantages of EVs compared to other emerging technologies. We will address crucial questions such as: Can electrification meet all urban transport needs? How do EVs compare to hydrogen and plastic fuel technologies in terms of efficiency and sustainability? What challenges and opportunities do these technologies present for cities?
